Most days, I try to live a pretty healthy lifestyle and eat "clean". But even Superman has his Kryptonite, and I think chicken wings might be mine!
I've said it before, wings are dangerous for me, because I will just keep eating them! These wings are sweet, but not too much, some heat, but not overwhelmingly spicy, and yes, even my 8 and 3 year old ate and loved them!
For the wings:
You can either bake or fry your wings. If You choose to bake them, you will set the oven to 425 degrees. Season your wings liberally with Salt and Pepper. Bake wings in a single layer for 20 minutes. Flip, and bake another 20 minutes.
If you choose to fry them, heat your oil to 375 degrees. Season your wings liberally with Salt and Pepper, fry them for 10-12 minutes or until internal temperature reaches at least 165 degrees.
While your chicken is cooking, add all your ingredients besides corn starch and extra 2 tbsp of water to a small sauce pan. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer over medium heat.
Once the sugar is dissolved, turn heat to low. In a small bowl, combine corn starch and water until it makes a slurry. Stir the slurry into the sauce and let it bubble until desired thickness is met (sauce should stick to your stirring spoon a bit!).
Add your cooked wings to a large bowl, pour your sauce over the wings, and toss to combine. If you like your wings REALLY saucy, it's very easy to double the recipe!
Garnish with cilantro and sesame seeds!
