Here is your next show stopper dessert, Bourbon Sticky Toffee Pudding! You're going to want to bookmark this! This comes together in less than 30 minutes, is virtually fool proof, and after 50 minutes in the oven will give you a dessert that people will definitely be asking you to make again!
Preheat oven to 350° and butter an 8 inch pan and set aside.
Add Heavy Cream, Brown Sugar, Molasses, and a Pinch of Salt to a medium sauce pan and bring to a soft boil, stirring often.
Once boiling, lower heat to medium-low and add the Bourbon.
Stir consistently for another 3-5 minutes until thickened.
Pour half the sauce into the prepared baking pan and put the pan in the freezer. Keep the other half for serving later!
Add your chopped dates to a medium sauce pan with 1 cup of water and bring to a boil.
Once it begins boiling, turn the heat off and add your baking soda.
In a smaller bowl, mix your flour, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
In your stand or hand mixing bowl, beat your butter and sugar together until fluffy.
Add half the flour mix, and beat again. While it's mixing, add one egg at a time and then the vanilla.
Mix in your date/water mix, then the rest of your flour mix until just combined. Don't over mix!!!
Pour the batter into the pan with the toffee sauce and bake for 50 minutes or until a toothpick in the center comes out clean!
Serve in individual bowls warm with ice cream and as much extra toffee sauce as your heart desires!
